MATCHING: Aspirations vs. Opportunities
KBA works to match our candidates' aspirations with the opportunities that various organizations provide, via a multistep process.
- We do this by determining what is important to you in this area. Specifically, where do you want to be next year, in 5 or 10 years? What would you have liked to accomplish when you retire? Do you see yourself in a corporate environment, in a small or large law practice, or working for a non-profit? Is your main focus to help people or something else? How important a motivator is money to you? How important is family and free time to you? Are you looking for a career with an organization or to achieve certain objectives? Why did you enter the legal field?
- We then ask you to describe your aspiration priorities, which jobs have met your aspirations and which have not and why? If you had to order your top 5 priorities what would they be?
- We then determine what kind of environment would be best suited to meet your aspirational priorities for your long term career development
- We search out those organizations that have an environment that is conducive to meet your aspirations. As these kinds of things tend to be intangible and are very difficult to document from literature or web sites, we rely on our experience in dealing with these companies and people who have been associated with them to get this type of information
- We then match your aspirations with those organizations that offer you the opportunities that you are looking for, so that you can make the right choices.
